Dear Sir a letter from John F Fitzgerald accuses Edward J Donovan of dodging a public records debate and endorses Fitzgerald for mayor if nominated. The exchange centers on McNary allegations and Donovan’s perceived stance amid the campaign.
Mr. Kelcher states he speaks for Edward J. Donovan and Martin M. Lom Asney, confirming they will support the primary nominee. Wm S McNary adds he will support the nominee of the primaries.
A historical notice lists actions by Donovan in House Journal entries 1887 and 1899. It cites votes against five cent fares, replacing Tremont street tracks, dodging referendum votes, dodging street railway taxation, and voting for telephone extortion.

House Journal 1888 notes Fitzgerald voting record on reform measures. He supported ten hour day for railroad workers, eight hour day, streetcar heating, prison goods labeling, initiative and referendum, municipalization of utilities, and steam railroad inspectors. He opposed corporate control of railroads and the Bell Telephone grab, the latter earning him Boston Post honor.
Police name five women connected to the Susan Geary case. Two Tremcent Street Bishop office workers may have arranged or performed the operation. Mrs Mary Dean and her sister ran a Roxbury house implicated in the charges. A fifth woman is sought as a witness. Captain Dugan says arrests will follow the Crawford Howard and Dr McLeod complaint.
