Washington reports a 24 hour forecast for New England and nearby areas. Attorney General Webster argued for broader connections while Justice Hannen urged restraint and acknowledged a possible curtailment of such material. The session adjourned.
In Glasgow on November 14 the Glasgow corporation hosted a banquet for Mr. Phelps the American minister. He praised Scotsmen yet warned America would tighten immigration to avoid what he called the leprosy of Asia and the offscourings of Europe.

Rochester Nov 14 Engineer John Van Koroff of Steam Gauge and Lantern Works was arrested by Chief Hayden and Assistant Superintendent McCormick on suspicion of setting a Friday night fire at the works. He is 45 with a wife and six children and has a history of fire and theft allegations.
The man killed Tuesday evening on the Fitchburg railroad at Somerville was James H. Griffin of Park street Somerville. He was a machinist employed by G George F. Holt & Co 77 Yloverhill street Boston. He leaves two daughters and a son.
Lynn reports Warren P. Copp, Saugus tax collector for a decade, has vanished amid suspected defalcation exceeding 10 000 dollars. Auditors found missing funds over nine thousand dollars while Copp admitted a clerical error. he promised repayment but disappeared ten days ago. A firm he formed in Boston folded with liabilities of eight thousand and assets of four thousand six hundred.
New York November 14 A spell binders dinner at Delmonico s attracted many invited figures but none of the main speakers including General Harrison Morton and Quay appeared.
