Youth and Girl Die in Auto Crash

Sheldon Dore 21 of Attleboro lost control on Foxboro turnpike and hit a telegraph pole. he died instantly. Miss Maud MacDonald 21, seated beside him, died hours later as rescuers battled the wreckage.

Car Crash Kills Maud MacDonald In Somerville Ride

Miss Maud MacDonald daughter of John and Mrs MacDonald and trainer Lester Dore of Medford die after a July collision near the town centre while Miss Lillian MacDonald and Kenneth Bliss escape with injuries. The group had attended a dance and were returning home when a telegraph pole caused the crash. Funeral services set for Tuesday and Wednesday.

Suspect Held in Harrison Ave Fruit Store Hold-up

Patrolmen Montgomery and Gately of East Dedham police say a man is in custody as a suspicious character in the hold-up at 612 Harrison avenue. Peter Shumanian was blackjacked, suffered a fractured skull, and remains in serious condition at the city hospital. The arrestee’s name is not released.

Falls Out Of Boat Drowns In Lynn Harbor

William Taylor age 35 of 24 Elmwood Avenue Lynn fell from the afterdeck of a motorboat into Lynn harbor and drowned despite efforts to save him. Stephen Hathaway owner of the boat of 583 Western Avenue Lynn nearly drowned in the rescue attempt and was rescued by another boat and taken to the Nahant coast guard station.

Mad Race to Save a Life

A Hast Dedham street ambulance rushed a severely wounded man through crowded streets to City Hospital in under two minutes where surgeons removed a 32 caliber revolver bullet from his skull. Charles Kalis, 25, had attempted suicide at 26 Upton Street. Patrolman Edward Kelly piloted the ambulance and Patrolmen Collins and Duman found him in a pool of blood.

Mrs Gould Dies During Golf at Georgian Court Links

Mrs George J Gould wife of the financier collapsed and died on the private Georgian Court course in Lakewood New Jersey while playing golf with her husband after finishing a drive at the fifth tee. She had been watching the flight of the ball when the incident occurred.

Wood Alcohol Deaths Reported in Portland

Three men died from wood alcohol poisoning in Portland within 24 hours. J W Fay a 40 year old barber from Lynn Massachusetts was found dead in his room on Free street. His roommate James Tracey a 50 year old Swampscott resident died in the hospital after warning Fay not to drink more. Frank A Latham of Portland died at the hospital after being picked up in Monument square.

Woman Found Dead in Lynn Home

Mrs. Mary C. Van Ness of 253 Summer Street Lynn was found dead yesterday at 48 Howard Street Lynn. Medical Examiner said there was no evidence of violence and death likely due to natural causes. Police note she had recently returned from the State farm and was with her sister at the Howard Street apartment when the groaning was heard by Charles Monarch who made tea then found her dead.
