Clarence V. Richeson will stand trial January 15 for the murder of Avis Linnell. District Attorney Pelletier won a motion to commence the sensational case on that date, despite opposition from ex Senator William A. Morse who urged a six month postponement.

A November fire at Hampton Beach destroyed four cottages and a small hotel with a $15000 loss. The Priscilla cottage burned after 6 pm, followed by Stanwood and Josephine as flames spread.
