Arrest Made In Perry Case On Chester Street

A 16 year old Black youth identified as Carl Johnson was arrested on suspicion in the Perry case after claiming to be the suspect. He partners Miss Agnes with Perry on Chester street Somerville about a month ago when Perry harmed a woman. McPhee was injured on Chester street October 3 and died shortly after. The public safety device involved was a Norcross furnace shaker, with debris sent to a foundry near the Mason and Hamlin factory. Johnson says Perry obtained the item from that public safety device. The factory where furnaces are built was previously emptied.

Rescue off Point Allerton saves Everett W Berry schooner

A heavy gale and dense fog drove the three masted schooner Everett W Berry of Eastport to shore two and a half miles off Point Allerton. Captain Sparrow and crew boarded to steady the ship until daylight when tugs raised anchors and towed her to Nan tasket Roads. five man crew included James Smith of St John New Brunswick. Police also report a Somerville assault case tied to George L O Perry with a suspect named Johnson, who implicated Perry and planned robberies around Cambridge and Somerville. Johnson, a frail man of Charlestown origin, with bloodstained hands and floating clippings, was detained for questioning.
