Rebel spy captured near Alexandria during Civil War unrest

Washington reports George Peterson, a man claiming rebel ties, captured at Alexandria after detectives traced him from Canada. He wore plain clothes and was jailed at Old Capitol Prison. Also noted: the Secretary of War improving, draft for 350 men resumed tomorrow, and Congress set definite appropriations at 735 million dollars with larger permanent debt funding.
