Firemen Injured In Crash In Charlestown

Captain Michael J. Lawlor Engine 36 along Monument street collided with a Bunker Hill car in Charlestown. Engineer Robert J. Gallagher and Assistant Engineer Charles M. Griffin, both at Relief Hospital with scalp lacerations and concussion, were among the three injured firemen.

Fire engine crash injures three firemen

Captain Michael J. Lawlor and two engineers were hurled from a moving engine after a collision with an outward bound streetcar on Warren avenue near the Boston & Maine freight sheds. Gallagher suffered a fractured pelvis and Griffin a scalp laceration with brain concussion, all rushed to the Relief station for treatment.
