Gas to challenge coal with new hydrogen gas firm
A new company with substantial resources has organized to produce gas by steam and liquid hydrocarbon decomposition on heated lime. The process yields almost pure hydrogen, carburetted to 30 to 50 candle power. Discovered by a French chemist and approved by a Polish one, it claims economy and may replace coal for engines and perhaps domestic heating and cooking. Testing will occur in New York by one or more gas firms, with hopes it will supplant the ordinary gas.
