Lobsters Flood Canadian Markets Amid War Impacts

Information from the fish pier notes thousands of cases of canned lobsters for sale in Canada as Europe’s war disrupts trade. England and France once took about two thirds of Canada’s lobster catch, while other fish movements include the schooner A Squalla bringing 3000 medium and 400 large mackerel, and the Georgiana reporting 8000 in cash arrivals. A permanent light will be set at Thimble Shoal in Chesapeake Bay next month replacing the temporary beacon. The Gay Head gas buoy is out and the Allan liner Sardinian carried 80 cabin and 46 steerage from Scotland. The Rodney Parker from Maitland, N S, stranded near Cranberry Island, Me., and may be a total loss.
