Fatal and injuring Chelsea Bridge electric car crashes
Two accidents occurred on Chelsea bridge within an hour as an electric car struck a man who sprang from the Wilson line dock toward the Washington avenue line. The victim, about 35, died at Massachusetts General Hospital after being dragged under the car. Earlier, John Erwing, 40, of 86 Maverick street Chelsea, was thrown from an inbound electric and badly injured, with head and facial trauma and a fractured ankle.

DORY DRIFTING IN A GALE RESCUE AT SEA
William Barnes of East Boston was rescued after eight hours adrift in a damaged dory the Wee Tam. A gale drove him from Harbor View to Jeffries Point as an anchor and his hat helped keep him afloat. Guardian saved him but the voyage left him exhausted and soaked.

Thieves shifted their activity to Jamaica Plain Saturday night around 8 p m. The Fritzbach residence at 15 Spring Park Avenue was entered through an open window and several items stolen including rings pins and a graduation pin marked B J 8. A bicycle shop at 437 Walnut Avenue, William Seavey’s, was entered through a side window, a slot machine broken open and its contents stolen.

Express Car Fire Near South Spencer Mystery Loss
Fire crews responded at 1 15 am to an American Express Company car on train 26 of the Boston and Albany line near South Spencer. The locked car contained miscellaneous goods and exposition exhibits. A hole was cut, contents raked out, and the blaze extinguished. Loss runs to several thousand dollars with the origin unknown.
Fire Nearly Traps Family in Atholl Blaze
A morning fire in South Athol destroyed the homes of George Pelkey and Allen Rice. Mrs. Pelkey lost $100 in cash hidden in a dress. only part of the household goods were saved. The blaze began in Pelkey’s barn around 4:45 AM and quickly spread to the house as the family fled. A high wind helped carry the flames across the road.
