Missouri and St. Louis Vote Contested in Early Returns
At 1 o clock the Missouri and St. Louis election results were in doubt with both parties claiming victory. The Democratic State committee said statewide and St. Louis majorities were large and that 15 Democratic Congressmen and a Democratic Legislature would reelect Senator Cockrell. The Republican chair claimed St. Louis Republican by 20,000 and statewide majority of 5000 with at least five Republican Congressmen.
