American First Army presses toward Sedan as troops reach city outskirts. Fire reported in areas of the famed city while heavy artillery rains down along the Meuse valley confusing German defenses and threatening the railroad from Sedan to Mintmedy and Metz.
A Berlin delegation has entered Allied lines prepared to accept drastic terms for a truce. Berlin says the mission includes armistice talks and open negotiations for peace, with full authority to negotiate.
Colonel Edward L. Logan of Boston is relieved of command of the 101st Infantry Regiment due to ill health. He is succeeded by Colonel Horace P. Hobbs, formerly with the Department of the Northeast.

Detroit November 6 The Newberry Ford race for lieutenant governor remained undecided late tonight with 273 precincts reported. Newberry led 200 677 to 197 125 but rural missing precincts could narrow the gap. Wayne County favored Ford by 27 128. Sleeper and the Republican ticket won by comfortable margins and woman suffrage appeared carried by about 17 000 votes.
