Historic Hunt Ington Hall Explodes and Burns in Lowell

A public political advertisement hall in Lowell, Historic Hunt Ington Hall, was wrecked by an explosion and fire early today. The city owned building, valued at about 170000, was possibly incendiary arson. A Democratic rally had been held there the prior evening. Patrolman Noye reported a blaze at 4 am, followed by a powerful blast that collapsed the rear wall onto the railroad and canal, with remaining sections still burning.
