A blaze discovered in a clothes closet of Suite 1 at 12 Hemenway Street Back Bay caused panic as residents fled to the street. Firemen from Engine 33 and Ladder 15 fought the flames that had burned into woodwork, with damages around 550 dollars.
The funeral for ex-Representative Richard H. Foley of 61 Roseclair Street Dorchester is set for 1 p.m. Sunday at the Church of the Redeemer on Columbia Road. He was the third brother to die in a week. his brother William J. Foley a former Common Council member and John P. Murray a step-brother had dies earlier. Foley was known in Dorchester as organizer of the Mt. Vernon Club Ward 15 and a member of several local clubs and veterans groups.

In Halifax Nova Scotia two highwaymen attempted to kill cashier George Foote and seize 3000 dollars to pay workers. C S Gallagher of Boston and Herbert E Hassett of Missouri were captured by a large posse three miles from the scene. Foote was shot in the face but not seriously hurt. the satchel with money was recovered. Authorities plan charges of attempted highway robbery and attempted murder.
