Asylum inmate dies after alleged nurse assault in Waterbury
Peter I. Durant an 80 year old French Canadian inmate of the State Asylum for the Insane died from injuries after an alleged assault by two male nurses at dinner last Tuesday. Nurses M J Dennis and D D Coon were arrested on assault charges and later held for the grand jury in bonds of 6500. Dennis posted bail and left the state while Coon remained jailed. Durant was committed from Middlebury on Oct 28 and could speak little English.
