In Pittsfield Superior Court Mary A. Bronson won 3000 in her suit against the city of North Adams after a second trial. She had fallen on a sidewalk in February 1894 and claimed injuries led to insanity and enduring disabilities. Experts testified full recovery was unlikely while the city argued partial feigning.
A Boston Post survey of shoe and leather trades shows dealers reporting immediate demand and price increases following McKinley’s election. Merchants like Bernard & Friedman and Thompson Packard & Co. cite new orders, higher prices, and restored confidence, while others note postponed expansion by rivals if Bryan had won.
