Family quarrel ends in Readville shooting

Enrico Gastagnine was shot three times at 6 Donahue Place Readville and lies dying at Hyde Park General Hospital. Police say his brother in law Juseppi Apolianco is the alleged assailant who fled with a smoking revolver after the incident. Police searched the Readville freight yards but had not captured him by morning.

Cook Seen As Cousin Chum In Antin Talk

Five hundred people waited outside Ford Hall for a chance to hear Mary Antin speak on American democracy. Believe Girl Is In Boston Search For Ola Smith

Boston police sought Ola Smith a 13 year old Norfolk girl who disappeared October 25 after leaving home for Franklin and boarding a train to Boston. Parents believed she may be in Boston or Wolaston where they had lived. A prior search in Wolaston yielded nothing. Ola is described as red hair in a Dutch haircut wearing a blue coat gray dress sailor collar white stockings no hat about 4 feet 10 inches tall and weighing around 90 pounds.

Carrot Grows Inside Cow Horn From Danvers Farm

A freak vegetable item arrives at the Post from Oliver Roberts Sons Farm Danvers. A carrot nearly six inches long grew within a cow horn, its roots extending into soil at the horn opening. The horn was sunk a foot underground and the carrot remained firmly attached to the horn after digging.

Missing Wakefield Men Prompt Police Search

Chief Pollard of Wakefield has been asked to locate two men missing for weeks. Joseph J. Deveau, a 89 Albion Street teamster, and George McNicol, a florist and gardener at 13 Salem Street, have left their homes and their families destitute.

Leaps From Ferryboat Man Rescued at Sea

Edward J. Ryan of East Boston and Eugene McCarthy of Charlestown saved Thomas Keefe 25 of Prattsville New York who jumped from the ferry Governor Russell at 3 AM HR. The boat was about to sail to East Boston when the man leapt overboard. The deck hands heard the splash grappled him with hooks and took him unconscious to Relief Hospital.
