Waltham Torch Bearers Parade Lights Up Town

Democrats and independents of Waltham joined in a torch light parade on Saturday evening with 800 uniformed men. Col. Robert B. Edes of the Paine cadets served as chief marshal as illuminations and fireworks lit the line of march. Prominent local business and professional figures joined in lighting up the town and a collation followed the parade.

Mob Ejects Questioner From Blaine Logan Meeting at Faneuil Hall

A Saturday noon Blaine and Logan gathering at Faneuil Hall, under the Republican city committee, featured Henry Parkman presiding and speeches by Thomas B. Reed and Gen. Hall of Maine. An unidentified Boston businessman pressed Reed with a question about naval department fraud, prompting Reed to dodge then confess amid a hostile crowd as Gen. Hall cried to eject him and police failed to intervene. The man was dragged to the exit while officials offered little response and observers urged protection.
