Harvard and Princeton renew football rivalry at the Stadium this afternoon at 2 with Harvard seeking revenge for last year’s 8 to 6 loss. The Tigers from New Jersey arrive determined to add to a late 19th century dominance and upset Harvard on home turf.
District Attorney Whitman received a warning of an alleged plot against his life as Becker trial ties loom. Four Chicago thugs were said to head here by train to “get” him, with heightened guard and daily detective presence. Gambling houses reportedly reopen quietly after Becker Rosenthal exposures.
Harvard reports a third break in two weeks as 51 Randolph Hall occupants W B B Wilson of Pennsylvania and Richard C Curtis of Boston were away at lectures when intruders entered their dormitory room.

William E. Butler, 39, president of the Butler companies and a leading New England merchant, shot himself in his private office on the tenth floor of the Butler building at 453 Washington Street around 2 PM yesterday. Associates attribute the act to overwork and a depressive mood as he expanded his business.

Five Massachusetts men receive Carnegie Hero Fund recognition at a Pittsburgh meeting. Named are Dr. Francis E. Park Stoneham James Higgins Stoneham Michael O Laughlin deceased Stoneham Patrick McMahon deceased Stoneham and John L La Marche Watertown.
Dr Park and Higgins saved two men from suffocation in a Stoneham sewer incident in Oct 1899 earning bronze medals. O Laughlin died after a similar 1910 incident. his widow and McMahon’s daughter receive bronze medals and annuities. Other honors go to La Marche for a 1908 drowning rescue and John K Doyle for pulling a woman from a train in Vermont. The commission also supplied funds to relief efforts for mine explosions in McCurtain Oklahoma and Jed West Virginia.
Mrs Cornelius E R Keene of South Hanson, 62, was struck by an automobile while crossing near Park Avenue. She died two minutes after reaching the hospital, her view blocked by a large umbrella she carried.
The driver Chester Holmes of this town received no blame for the collision. He took Mrs. Keene to a store, two physicians were summoned, and she was transported by ambulance to Jordan Hospital. Mrs. Keene, mother of Harry B. Keene of Hanson, was among South Hanson’s oldest residents and well known locally.
