Boston Woman Held for Theft of U S District Attorney Papers

Miss Etta McLean of Boston and Alexander Gordee of Boston were arrested in Chicago on charges of stealing important papers from the U S district attorney’s office. McLean, a former stenographer, allegedly supplied the papers to Gordee who tried to sell them to John R. Walsh. Both suspects were held in $5,000 bail.

Gordee Files Bankruptcy After Chicago Move

Alexander Gordee, arrested in Chicago, filed a bankruptcy petition here last May. His mobilities totalled $16,000 with assets of $70. Shortly after, Gordee and his stenographer Miss McLean left here for Chicago.

Banker seeks $200000 gain from $800 investment case

Stephen Jennings, a Court Square banker, bought a nearly valueless claim in the Alfred A. Marcus estate for 300 and, with 99000 more, seeks title to property valued around 300000. Defendants include E. S. Sparrow and F. E. Hodgkins from Lucinda Collamore’s estate. Marcus had borrowed about 50000 from Gilman Collamore in 1879 to buy property on Hanover Street and Head Place, conveying it to Mrs. Collamore as collateral per an oral agreement.
