Bankers plot and silver debate roils 1896 campaign
In a lengthy letter, the writer argues the Baltimore plan will force a gold basis and bank control of currency, accusing bankers of seeking a monetary monopoly. He defends bimetallism, cites editorials praising public service, and laments political attacks while urging remonetization of silver before the election.
Confidence and Mills Debate in The Fost Post
A letter from Justice defends confidence in mills and criticizes J S Campbell for questioning McKinley and silenced by politics. The woollen industry claims orders hinge on the election, wages cut, and prices at cost or loss. The writer argues against speculative statements and stresses trust between businessman and supplier.
The Post's Fairness Letter to the Editor
Sir It seems to me that if one half or more of the people of this country who favor the free coinage of silver are the ignorant and disorderly class the gold people say they are there are not some evidences of it during the present political excitement. The Post has been the freest from misrepresentation and abuse in Boston and the people will not forget it. Cc. E. SARGENT 19 Temple street.

E C S Warns of Banking Schemes and Bond Trusts
In a letter to the editor, E C S argues that McKinley would lose electoral votes if the public understood bankers’ schemes. He links government bonds to national banks, warns of bond-based banking collapse in 1907, and critiques silver coinage, the Sherman act, and efforts to repeal the purchase clause. He cites figures, cites Mt Pleasant circular, and contends Cleveland backers and papers attack him while favoring bank interests.
