Florham Park Manor Lord Influences Borough Creation
The Florham Park borough in New Jersey owes its founding to the influence of Lord Twombly a New York resident who owns Vineland near Newport. He pays most borough taxes and determines school and road funding while not voting locally. His estate includes a Hampton Court like manor 235 feet long with a large stable and 100 horses and an eight foot fence separating it from the town.
