Lawson rumor on dismantling sparks debate at coastal port

London Fairplay cites claim the coal schooner Thomas W. Lawson has been dismantled and will serve only as a lighter due to excessive draft. Yet observers note she remains a schooner and still capable of fast passages, with other vessels like Eleanor A. Percy and George W. Wells noted in harbor chatter amid fish trade shortages and new fishing craft testing sail.
