Massachusetts milk producers petitioned railroads to cut cans per milk shipment to Boston from six cents to a reasonable rate. Hearings were scheduled for March 31 and April 16, with further dates in May, as the Board reviews contractors, car leases, and monopolistic practices that jam the market for farmers delivering milk.
In New York May 27 Judge Patterson dismissed Harry Allen's suit against the Vanderbilts for half a million dollars after evidence failed to prove an oral contract by which William H Vanderbilt allegedly agreed to pay Allen's mother 600000 more than other Commodore Vanderbilt heirs in exchange for waiving objections to the will probate.
The May 27 session in Newport Alabama began at 10 am with Governor Laeed presiding. Senate proposed a constitutional amendment for plurality to decide elections, referred to Special Legislation, and debated liquor sale laws with a Sunday exception.
