Washington reports a U S note to Britain and France condemning the seizure and censorship of neutral mails. The State Department released the text, demanding prompt policy changes and signaling potential claims for losses already suffered by American merchants and property holders.
City authorities prepare for a vast crowd with police deployed to manage expected records as plans to use Washington and Tremont Streets after six o clock are dropped.
Weather Bureau predicts fair skies as Boston welcomes Preparedness Day with a vast civilian army. About 100000 men and women from all walks of life join bands and 50 fife and drum corps marching in formation down city streets.
George W. Coleman, the former National City Bank of Cambridge clerk who stole 300000 six years ago, was released from federal custody and is now in Cambridge. He is 30, released to his father under supervision and remains under federal authority.
Coleman, freed by the National Board of Parole, departed Greenfield jail at 4 PM in a car bound for his parents 1386 Magazine Street Cambridge. He may travel within the state until June 12 1920 if he remains law abiding. He promised to lead a straight life and said he last milked prison cows this morning.

Dr Arthur Warren Waite was deemed a moral idiot and not legally responsible for the murders of John F Peck and Mrs Peck by alienists Dr Morris J Karpas and Dr Allen Ross Dieffendorf in New York Supreme Court. The defense rested with Miss Catharine Peck as a witness on a collateral matter and rebuttal by three other alienists was expected to follow.

Eunice Phipps, 15, of 60 Dean Street, Everett, was found dead in a bathtub late last night after a gas leak from a patent hot water heater occurred when a faucet in another part of the house was turned. Her mother discovered the body.
Police and physicians, aided by a palmotor, worked for an hour to revive the girl but failed. The heater released gas when a water faucet opened, ignited by a constant pilot flame. Miss Phipps may have extinguished the pilot while bathing, allowing gas to fill the room.
