Five year old Levis of 3 Hampshire street Cambridge was run over by a parked road vehicle near Broadway and Prospect streets. Louis F. Baker of 90 Park street Medford operated the truck and faced manslaughter charges before being released on two thousand dollars bail for a police court hearing.

Mrs Evelyn Curtis Byng, daughter of Mr and Mrs Allen Curtis of 101 Beacon Street, reports the death of her husband Lieutenant Harry Gustav Byng in the trenches in France. An officer in the English army, he was married in London on March 22 while on leave from the front.
Miss Curtis sailed from Boston with her mother on February 27 aboard the Rotterdam to join Lieutenant Byng in France. The couple wed at St Marys Bryanston Square London on March 22 before Byng returned to the front, while Mrs Byng stayed with relatives in London.
Italy launches land and sea operations against Austria pushing into crown lands northwest of Trieste. Italian forces capture four towns, Austrians retreat burning bridges and houses. Ironclad land and Adriatic bombardments accompany the advance toward Istria and the port of Pola.

OSSINING N Y May 25 Charles Becker learned his fate in the Sing Sing death house. The court’s decision likely to sentence him to the chair was told to him before the evening meal. Becker refused all food and expressed sympathy for his loyal wife. Fellow condemned men tried to cheer him but he seemed to have given up hope. ALBANY N Y May 25 Becker the former New York police lieutenant must die in the electric chair within six weeks for the murder of Herman Rosenthal unless the governor or Supreme Court intervenes. The Court of Appeals affirmed Becker’s conviction and granted a new hearing after the first trial on a judge’s error.
The New York County district attorney led the Becker prosecutions, personally examining witnesses in the second trial, and tonight he declined to discuss the case.

London May 25 Premier Asquith announced a new cabinet saying a place in the cabinet was offered to John Redmond Irish Nationalist leader, but he did not see his way to accept it.
Forecasts show southern New England with increasing clouds on Wednesday, showers at night, and partly cloudy conditions in the west with showers in the east on Thursday. Northern New England expects fair conditions Wednesday, cooler Thursday with showers.

Italian batteries and air action target Austrian vessels near Rimini Senigalia Ancona and Modern. Heavy damage claimed on Italian rail facilities while Austrian forces claim heavier enemy losses and continued bombardments.
Governor Walsh unable to attend State House duties due to tonsillitis remains confined to bed at the Hotel Lenox. His condition worsened slightly and is described as uncomfortable though not serious, with several days expected away from the State House.
