Police investigate possible ghoul involvement and robbery, Paymaster Moore had no cash while McDonald carried little. The scene lies about five miles from town.

Henniker New Hampshire May 25 In tense excitement over the murder of Howard W Peaslee arrest suspect Eugene Wood was not arraigned today but postponed until tomorrow. The police court trial will be held in Bradford ten miles away while public interest focuses on Wood and his employer Miss Ida Barnes.
Authorities aim to prove that Wood fired the shot that killed Peaslee. The case centers on witness accounts and forensic evidence, with prosecutors concentrating on establishing motive and opportunity to link Wood to the fatal incident.
A historic Boston blaze scorched the 25th floor of an unfinished 30 story tower. Firefighters fought a 450 foot ascent using 18 stories by elevator then navigated dangerous stairs and ladders as smoke and darkness closed in. They subdued the fire after a 15 minute, fearless effort amid extreme danger.
Authorities explore whether the March shooting death of Charles Manley in his bed with a single discharge linked to a broader case. Medical Referee Chauncey Adams ruled murder, housekeeper Mrs Mills was briefly detained but not indicted by the grand jury. A second shock followed when 70 year old John Boody, tied to a Mills daughter case, was arrested.
A fire started by a bil lamp or forge on a tower construction caused extensive flames and smoke, damaging timber trestle staging. John Dorris witnessed sparks atop the tower and alerted authorities with Patrolman D from City Hall Avenue station. Firefighters faced a spectacular blaze as they arrived.
J P Morgan attacked Charles S Mellen in Washington claiming Mellen hid facts about the New Haven road. Morgan offered records of J P Morgan & Co and his father’s records for review. He accepted responsibility for the change in the railroad presidency that led to Mellen’s resignation, denying his father took control of affairs.
Belfast reports no demonstrations as May 25 ends quietly. John E Redmond says the home rule bill’s third reading division effectively makes it law and urges Ulsterites to seek conciliatory talks on safeguards. He calls the 114 year union’s history to a close and urges calm as the debate continues on Page 9 Second Col.
