Witnesses Signoff on Prison Treatment in Hartford Hearing
Hartford May 23 Warden Chamberlain called Father Thomas W Broderick and Father John T Lynch as witnesses for his defense at the state prison investigation. Broderick said he visited the prison about six times in ten years and prisoners never complained of treatment. Lynch visited monthly and often more, with no complaints from inmates and believed the sick were properly treated. He noted Catholic death notices were sent to friends and found no evidence that Foxs death in the dungeon was hastened by treatment.
