General Fullerton and Louisiana records in Judiciary hearing
Gen Fullerton arrived in town summoned by the Judiciary Committee and will appear tomorrow with records of his Commissionship of Freedmen's affairs in Louisiana. The documents aim to support his claim that property release was his act alone and not President Johnson's involvement. Francis Thomas prepares to indict Maryland before the committee over its republican status. Ohio Rep Schenck eyes the Governorship as a Radical candidate. The committee grilled the President's Private Secretaries, including Col Bob Johnson, but no decisive disclosures followed.
