The newly elected secretary of the American Unitarian Association committee faced protests as Rev. At Mechanics Hall yesterday afternoon the Latin School battalions of the Second Regiment Boston School Cadets displayed after a prize drill. The floor held severely martial battalions while balcony seating carried a large crowd of ladies mothers sisters and sweethearts. The cadets marched in at 2 oclock to music from St Augustine's Cadet Band of South Boston supporting the display.

Alvin Ressler's self destruction after unrequited love

Alvin Ressler traveled to Jersey City to confront his sweetheart over a marriage refusal. Faced by the brave woman, he fled to her doorstep and killed himself with laudanum. The incident ends with Ressler's suicide after his plan collapsed.
