Boston high schools stage a series of competitive drills in Mechanic Building from May 23 to 26 starting at 2 PM. The Highland Battalion from Roxbury Charlestown Dorchester and others lead the opening day regimental drill under Lt Col Anthony. Boston English High School then performs over two days with regimental drill led by Lt Col Ball and Col Harry Pray. The Latin School closes with a general review commanded by Col A L Richards.

The Thomas K Shea drug store on Bridge street was broken into last night. About 290 dollars in cigars cigarettes confectionery perfumery and toilet articles were stolen. Three men fled during the pursuit and were captured after a lively chase through Salem. Names William Kennedy Frank Evans and Frank Scott were given.
