Brinckley Divorce Case Opens Defense in NYC

In New York May 20 the Brinckley divorce suit proceeds as Gen Anthon leads the defense. He argues no marriage exists by mere mutual living together and aims to prove the plaintiff sought a meretricious relation for money and status. Testimony shows Mrs Brinckley and Brinckley used aliases and lived in a house on Fifteenth Street. Brinckley testifies he offered a house, a life income, and denied a true marriage. The trial, amid public sympathy for the plaintiff, continues with witness accounts of plans and alleged arrangements.
