At 2:30 a special session of American astronomers used the strongest telescopes to seek Halley’s comet tail. Despite early meteors, no tail or unusual phenomena were observed as dawn approached at 2:55.
The court heard that William J. Keliher was told by George W. Coleman that money he lost trying to break the fare bank in New York was stolen from the National City Bank of Cambridge. Keliher allegedly urged Coleman to take more even after Coleman decided to stop and demanded restitution of part of hundreds of thousands stolen. Continued on Page 2-Third Column.
Forecast for Boston and vicinity calls for fair weather on Friday with warmer temperatures. Saturday will be settled with possible local showers, light to variable winds. The New England forecast notes increasing clouds Saturday and warmer conditions in the west portion with moderate variable winds. Steamers sailing Friday to European ports may expect light to moderate variable winds and fair weather toward the Grand Banks.

Worcester May 19 After pleading guilty to larceny of 404000 from the Southbridge Savings Bank John A Hall the bank's defrauded treasurer was sentenced by Judge Robert T Raymond to not less than 12 nor more than 15 years in the State prison at Charlestown. He admitted disposing of 370000 to charities relatives and bad investments. Continued on Page I First Column
Lynn May 20 75 guests at the Congress Hotel corner Ce avenue and Liberty street fled into the street at 1 o clock when a blaze started in Peter Diojian s room on the first floor Miss Deshon woke by smoke and alerted others forcing a rush through smoke to the Liberty street exit as guests stood in their clothes.
Dagi Doherty a motorman on the lines strangled his housekeeper Mrs Beatrice Rice this morning and then drank two ounces of nitric acid dying several hours later.
Police found a dead woman and a man who attempted suicide after an assault. Doherty allegedly strangled the woman and tied a cord to a door knob before seeking poison and fleeing to the river. He later stole nitric from a drugstore and drank it at home as officers arrived too late to stop the events.
