The United States calls the parks incident a hostile act and demands explanation from Huerta. Bryan tightens pressure with a strong ultimatum while President Hoover contemplates steps to secure reparation for the execution, risking destabilizing peace plans.
Rioting near the Heywood Bros. & Wakefield rattan factory in Wakefield involved strikers and police. Patrolman Benjamin Finn of the Metropolitan Park police was seriously injured and taken to Melrose Hospital in dangerous condition. A squad of 20 officers rushed to the scene as clashes continued yesterday afternoon and evening.
May 15 report from Mellen Washington says Chief Counsel Folk of the Interstate Commerce Commission examined documents already submitted by Charles S. Mellen regarding the New Haven affairs. The work was to continue tomorrow as Mellen traveled toward Connecticut.
Mr Mellen will need at least two days with his attorneys to review papers stored at homes in New Haven and Stockbridge, then return to Washington to resume testimony by next Tuesday. Counsel Folk will continue exams for several days, with no other witnesses planned meanwhile. Directors William Rockefeller Lewis Cass Ledyard George F. Baker and George Loch Peter plan to be examined next Tuesday though Miller and Rockefeller are ill. Ledyard and Baker have stated willingness to testify at any time.

Mrs. Lillian Rosenberg widow of "Lefty Louie" virtually admits her husband’s role in Herman Rosenthal’s killing. She-testifies as the People's witness at Charles Becker’s trial, confirming Rose's assertion of Becker’s involvement and adding a major sensation to the proceedings.
