Damages in Early Boston Case over Custody and Breach

In a Boston contract dispute a plaintiff sought $1,000 damages for alleged mistreatment and cold exposure by police during custody and detainment. The superior court held the actions constituted contract damages, but the supreme judicial court sustained the defendants, ruling the lower court erred and the plaintiff failed to prove a purchasable harm or liability for officers.
