Noted Jurist John Lowell Dies at 4 10 This Morning

Judge John Lowell of Newton Chestnut Hill died at his home at 4 10 o clock this morning. He was born in Boston on October 12 1824 and a descendant of Massachusetts leaders who helped end slavery and foster cotton manufacturing. He studied at Harvard and served on the district and circuit courts, shaping bankruptcy and commercial law. He married Lucy B Emerson in 1853.
