London reports fear of another extensive cholera scare this summer as Europe tightens precautions. In Anniston Alabama on May 12 a fight among female cotton mill workers left Rosie Brown dead from her injuries. Ten girls were arrested on warrants charging them with murder.
A boiler in the Midland Lumber Company mill exploded this afternoon in Miptano Midh. Charles Allen and Engineer Van Valkenberg were found dead beneath the ruins. Many others are buried or injured and evacuated to nearby homes. The mill is a complete wreck with about sixty five workers.

The Olivette and Halifax will operate tri weekly sailings both ways between Boston and Halifax starting in June. The Olivette, famed as Queen of Northern Waters, will join the Halifax on this route, with faster service and no long sea detentions. Passengers will depart Boston at noon, dine at Halifax, and reach further destinations quickly, upgrading the travel experience beyond the old line.

F J Dooley, held for the grand jury on a charge of sending a scurrilous postal card to James B Dooley, with wife Mrs Dooley as complainant. Mrs Dooley, once guilty of sending the card, testified her husband admitted writing it. Fernald witnessed the admission behind a screen. She also sues for divorce, claiming the card was written for revenge.
Contributions received yesterday from Post readers totaled 16 dollars for the destitute Gould family, bringing the grand total to 8150 dollars at the paper’s office. Notable gifts include one dollar from Harvard University CampningGse dated May 11, 1892 and several smaller donations accompanied by names, with Mrs Gould and her children the beneficiaries.
The Canada Atlantic Steamship Company and Aship have joined to insure a tourist route previously blocked by lack of proper accommodations. Captains Hill and McKay, the Halifax and Olivette, are popular with travelers as plans consider freight and passenger service from Boston to ports beyond Halifax without stopping there. The Canada Atlantic line, chartered in 1887 with a $300,000 capital, lists E. G. Smith as president and R. H. Humphrey as secretary, with Boston management by Richardson & Barnard of Savannah Line fame. The Halifax vessel, built in Glasgow in 1888, is a 1750 ton steel ship of 260 feet length and 85 feet beam, with 3000 horsepower and 15 knots speed. The Olivette, built in Philadelphia in 1887, is 1611 gross tons, 274 feet long, 35 feet beam, 11 feet 9 inches deep, home port New Haven, and regularly sails Tampa to Havana in winter and Boston to Bar Harbor in summer. The ship has historically held its own against rival lines.
Charles J. Alger a leading Burlington citizen and prominent Democrat died at his home in Burlington Vermont from paralysis on May 12. He was a noted figure in local politics and civic affairs with a long record of public service.

The annual dinner of the College of Physicians and Surgeons graduating class was held at the Thorndike last evening with thirty members present. In a yesterday afternoon session Judge Bond sentenced Cornelius Sullivan to five years in the State Prison for robbery. Thomas Flaherty received five years for robbery. William Lynch was committed for Danking and entering to the Massachusetts Reformatory. George Walker drew four years for robbery in the House of Correction. William Brady also received five years in the House of Correction.
At 4 55 yesterday afternoon Charles Nelson driving a horse owned by Edward Jansa across the Providence division tracks of the Old Colony railroad at Ruggles street Roxbury the animal was struck and killed instantly by an inward bound train. Nelson escaped with slight bruises and the buggy was wrecked.

Newton May 12 Tonight Eliot Hall hosted Tableaux Phantasma before a larger crowd than Wednesday. New illusions were shown including the classic tableau and the thrilling Spectre Bride illusion captivating spectators.
Louisville May 12 Judge Toney ruled the Frankfort Lottery had a right to run despite constitutional prohibition. The Henry College lottery grant was declared exhausted.
