In the Superior Criminal Court on May 12 Judge Aldrich presided. James Sullivan and Joseph Callahan faced larceny charges with a hung jury. Margaret McCoy was acquitted of assault and battery. John Barker and Michael Malley stood trial for breaking and entering. George H. King and Albert Young pleaded guilty to larceny and were fined $15 plus costs. Margaret Sullivan pleaded guilty to assault and battery and received one year at the house of correction. William Rooney appeared on a drunkenness and malicious mischief warrant, fined $1 and costs for the first offence, with the second matter put on file.

Impersonator Marshall Adams Dies at 46 in Indianapolis
Marshall Adams known for portraying Old Black Joe died May 11 in Indianapolis at age 46. He began on stage as a child of 10 with one of the Christy brothers and remained a minstrel performer throughout his career. Frank W. Curry councilman dies at 29 in Charlestown residence of his father. He died May 12 of consumption, a Charlestown High School graduate class of 1875, and served on the common council in 1883. He was active in society and with the St. Mary's church temperance group.
