Written for the Post by District Attorney J. C. Pelletier defends freedom against autocracy. It proclaims that democracy endures only if all men remain born free and equal and rejects militarism and punitive indemnities as threats to liberty.
George W. Coleman of Boston, chairman of the War Commission of the Northern Baptist Convention and Ford Hall forum leader, arrived in the port today after visiting Massachusetts troops in cantonments near the American sector. He spent the longest time with the 101st infantry, artillery and engineers, many Boston boys, and will deliver messages from them to families in the Boston area.
General Maurice asserts that Lloyd George and Bonar Law lied to the country about army strength and the war conference. He says the true number of Haig's forces was not disclosed to the public.

Three individuals collapsed in separate incidents. John Carbanez, 38, married, of 2 Lubec Street East Boston, was overcome at work on Beacon Street near Deerfield Street and taken to City Hospital. Charles F. Allen, 51, of 111 Fairmont Avenue Hyde Park, was overcome last evening while walking home from the Lawley.
A brief report states a incident at a Neponset shipyard resulted in injuries and the subject was removed to Boston City Hospital for treatment. Details remain limited.
