Mrs Harriet F Davis sued her father in law Samuel Davis and mother in law Helen Davis for 20000 dollars claiming alienation of affection of her husband S Austin Davis. The case in the Second Session of the Superior Court before Judge Blodgett ended abruptly yesterday morning with a settlement. the parties settled for a sum not disclosed and less than the claimed 20000 dollars.

Strickland Sentenced for Fraud Linked to Washington Street Real Estate

Charles 8 Strickland was sentenced in the Superior Criminal Court by Judge Fessenden to the House of Correction for ten months. He defrauded Edward C Hutchins of 200 dollars on May 22, 1894, by false pretences. Hutchins paid for a half interest in the real estate business at 1199 Washington street, which Strickland claimed earned 87 dollars for two months, a claim not true.

A Bridgeport Family in Sore Distress

Thomas Hickey of the East End is missing after going out for work yesterday morning. His wife is dying of consumption and the five small children are starving, two of them twins three months old. Poor Superintendent Bunnell found the family in a deplorable condition this morning. Hickey was an industrious man of good habits.
