In Boise Idaho on May 6 Judge Wood will decide if William Haywood may obtain a bill of particulars naming overt acts charged in the murder of former Governor Frank Steunenberg. The defense motion was argued at length and the court will rule on Wednesday.
In court under Sheriff Hodgin, Frank Richardson and Clarence Darrow argued for a defendant, contending insufficient indictment particulars and calling for disclosure of State evidence. Senator Borah defended the State while D. H. Hawley attended as an associate. Darrow pressed for fairness and witness access, stressing danger of surprise testimony and the defendant’s rights. The exchange ended with Borah defending secrecy and duty.
General Gerrish defies orders while on Deer Island as he prepares to quit under protest. Penal Commissioner Martin demands removal of his office and personal effects. Mayor Fitzgerald schedules a hearing for Gerrish’s removal with counsel. General Bartlett urges compliance.
The Deer Island confrontation ends as General James B. Gerrish agrees to move the action to City Hall. A court martial led by Mayor Fitzgerald will try him Friday afternoon, marking a shift from the island to civil authorities in a tense dispute over governance and order.
Mrs J S Bost of Lilly Pa credited Father John’s Medicine with curing a dry hacking cough diagnosed as consumption by her doctor. Mr Bost says the remedy strengthens the body to resist disease. Mrs A Bilodeau of Lewiston Me says four years of illness labeled consumption were ended by the medicine.

The union is said to punish or discipline for outside actions but has not done so. The court finds no right to interfere with workers employed to take others' places by force or intimidation.
Justice Loring ruled on the Master Teamsters of Boston petition against Union 2 of Boston et al granting a temporary injunction. He stated that every man has a right to work or not and that a strike means a body of men have chosen not to work.
The Rev. John Cuckson has died. Details and funeral arrangements will be announced by the family.
The Rev. Dr. John Duckson formerly of Boston collapsed and died at 8 PM in Plymouth on a piazza near Sandwich and Bradford streets. He had arrived in town to attend a ministers meeting at the Methodist Church and likely fell ill before seeking shelter at Bradford’s home. Duckson had been in Plymouth since 1901 and was a prominent Mason and chaplain across several Masonic bodies in Massachusetts. He was preparing a history of St. Andrew's lodge and was a close friend of Rev. Robert Collier of New York.

Armed with axes and aided by 25 policemen Durbin VanVleck of Brooklyn public works led a gang along Surf Avenue Coney Island cutting back every part of any building stand or sign that extended beyond the courtyard line on May 6.

President Roosevelt opened the National Schuetzen Bund event in Charleston S C by pressing a White House button that fired three shots at a target. He reportedly scored 69 out of 75 and heard the shots via telephone connection with the Bund.

Concord rumors claim a letter signed by S S Hering hints at a split around Mrs. Eddy. Reporters witness Fort Pleasant View security and evasive responses from Frye and Tomlinson while Rev. Irving Tomlinson asserts cordial relations among Hering Frye Wilson Eddy Stetson and Farlow and notes Hering is out of town.
