Stabbing at Lewiston dance leaves two men injured

In Lewiston Maine on Saturday night Joseph Terrin stabbed Ernest Bolduc three times in the hip and abdomen during a quarrel at a New Auburn dance. Bolduc was taken home and treated by City Physician Purrington. Terrin was captured and a hearing is set for Monday. The injuries are serious but not yet deemed fatal.

Local theater figure John Noon found strangled in Marblehead

Found strangled this morning in Lookout court entry of a shoe shop, John Noon, a well known theatre figure, lay injured after an apparent fall while trying to enter an upper room. Dr. Carleton of Salem pronounced death from strangulation. Noon weighed about 250 pounds and was badly bruised.

Little Blazes Soon Put Out At Several Sites

A fire alarm from Box 726 at the terra cotta works on Federal Street reported a blaze in the boiler room of John A. Robertson’s planing mill at 393 Federal Street. The fire, caused by spontaneous combustion, did little damage. Earlier Engine No. 6 fought a minor fire at 278 Friend Street in A. T. Cann’s provision store. Chemical Engine No. 6 also extinguished a small fire beneath Warren Bridge in Charlestown caused by electric wires.
