Russell Wyse a 19 year old of Somerville was shot and killed in St Paul Minn while attempting to escape railroad detectives His mother Mrs Agnes Wyse of 171 Walnut Street Somerville identified the youth in the incident reported last night
James Farmer of South Boston escaped detectives who shot Wyse then was recaptured by another pair guarding railroads near St Paul Union Station. News despatches say the youths may have tried to board a freight train to reach another city. Russell Wyse left Somerville to visit his uncle in Chicago and was a Cambridge school graduate.
The House of Commons approved the second reading of the military service bill for immediate general conscription. A motion by Richard D Holt to reject the bill failed 328 to 36.
Former members of the Lynn and Boston Street Railway Co who were employed before 1883 gathered at the American House for an informal dinner. The reunion aimed to spur a permanent organization for the old company’s ex-employees.

James Mark Sullivan former U S minister to San Domingo, now under arrest in Dublin for complicity in the Irish rebellion. Sir Edward Grey requested details as the rebellion unfolds.
James M. Sullivan formerly American minister to Santo Domingo, now in Dublin, faces charges of complicity in the Irish rebellion. He is a New York native and the arrest is reported from London on May 4.
Military authorities in Dublin arrested Mr. Sullivan on April 30 as Mrs. Sullivan, accompanying him, wrote May 1 a letter now received by Walter Hines Page. The American ambassador sent a note to Sir Edward Grey seeking full details on custody status charges and trial timing. It is suspected Mr. Sullivan has long been in Ireland after arriving there some time ago.
John Elliott, 45, jailed in Thompson on a double murder charge for killing George A. Pettis and daughter Sibyl Pettis, suffers a double skull fracture and acute Brights disease. A jail doctor said Elliott likely will not live to stand trial in Superior Court. He is to be arraigned in District Court next month.
