Iron Moulders Elect Officers in Two New Divisions

The New England Iron Moulders Conference Board split into Eastern and Western divisions at Worcester. Western officers include Nevins of Taunton and Murpy of Norwood. Eastern officers include Haupt of Hartford and Kaveeny of Springfield. Installations were conducted by J R O Leary of Lowell.

A large crowd in Massachusetts listened to Big Bill Haywood Joseph Ettor and other I W W organizers denounce capitalists and the state. Funds collected, about 100 dollars, were pledged for strikers food. Ettor warned the movement will expand beyond Hopedale and Fall River.

Boy 14 Hangs Self With Tie in Medford Lodging House

Herbert W. Joyce a 14 year old boy at 122 Park Street Medford hanged himself with a necktie from his bed head. Despondency after his mother's death and family separation is cited as the motive. Father Fred Joyce lives on Cross Street. The tragedy was found by Mrs. Mary Phalen who entered the room to arrange the bed.

Woman Dies After Street Collapse

Mrs. Camelia Trilla aged 40 of 109 Porter Street East Boston collapsed on the sidewalk before her home about 10:30 last night and died shortly after in an ambulance en route to East Boston Relief Hospital.

Sailors Parade to Honor Maine Monument Unveiling

A 4000 sailor parade from the North Atlantic fleet will mark the May 30 unveiling of the Maine memorial in New York. Rear Admiral Charles J. Badger led a monument committee meeting with naval officers to finalize ceremony arrangements.

Citizens Seek Local Mediation in Paterson Silk Strike

Washington May 4. A plan by Paterson New Jersey citizens to seek federal mediation in the 20 000 silk mill workers strike is likely to be dropped. A message exchange between Representative Bremner and Mayor McBride led to the idea of forming a citizens committee to settle the strike.

A Tokyo to Japanese American telegram reports Japan will protest California's alien land bill now awaiting Governor Johnson's signature. The message says Japan holds the United States responsible for finding a satisfactory solution under treaty obligations and notes Japanese disappointment upon learning the bill passed both houses.
