In Brockton on May 4, Rosabelle Curtis 23 and George Bullock 34, both Black, lay between life and death after a fatal shootout. Bulllock shot Curtis at Allen street and Bolton place, then killed himself beneath his heart with a cheap 32-caliber revolver. Curtis, a domestic for Edwin Parker, and Bullock, a carriage maker at Hall’s stable, had recent courtship friction. Curtis sought help at H. A.
