Mooney Blocks Boston Electric Consolidation Plan
Mr Mooney of Boston raises points of order against a bill to consolidate the Boston Electric Light Company and the Edison Electric Illuminating Company. He argues the committee process violated Rule 1 and that the so called committee of thirty did not report on time, warranting the bill’s laying aside. Speaker Myers will rule on the matters after considering Mr Mooney's citations of former Speakers Barrett and Meyer. The bill was tabled pending the chair’s decision.
