Rail Labor Bills Dismissed and Druggist Liquor Issue Heated
Massachusetts House debates labor hours for railroad workers with claims of excess hours and severe dangers. The panel rejects a ten hour day measure 80 to 56, with proponent Moriarty pushing amendments. Separately the Senate moves a liquor bill restricting druggists, while a medicine practice bill is recommitted after scope questions. A street railway accident reporting bill faces procedural objections and is shelved. The Cambridge Charles River bridge funding gets a favorable procedural step. New draft drafts appear in the Senate.
