Quantrel with 200 brigands attacked a Missouri militia detachment under Major Foster in Warrensburg. After a spirited skirmish the raiders withdrew, suffering 9 killed and 17 wounded. 20 horses were captured. Our side had 2 killed and 9 wounded. Quantrel struck again next day with unknown result.
