In Saxton's River Vermont an attempted thawing of dynamite at a stove caused a powerful explosion in E H Stoodley's house. Francis Farr, a worker, died from injuries and four year old Gladys Stoodley was badly wounded. The blast wrecked the house and left little hope for the child.
