New Orleans reports from March 28 say Huntington and Easton Mississippi crevasses widen the Yazoo delta flood. Huntington is 300 feet wide near Arkansas City, Easton 100 feet wide. Easton splits the Riverside division between Scott and Lamont. Skipwith breaks 600 feet wide with water 15 to 20 feet deep flooding town, many houses submerged. Stock losses expected but few deaths. residents move stock to safety as gloom grows.

A March Kentucky cyclone reduced Main Street from Sixth to Eleventh streets to rubble. Warehouses on Ninth and Louisville streets, the tobacco market, and the Louisville Hotel were wrecked, with multiple fatalities and residents buried under debris.
